“I am Iron Man.” – Tony Stark
IT’S FINALLY HERE. IT’S FINALLY HERE! Don’t worry, I will not mention any spoilers here. I might write a thoughts post later on, with spoilers, maybe but for now, I won’t spoil anything.
As time got closer and closer, my anxiety started to go up – I’m not even kidding. I saw Endgame on Thursday night at 7 pm. On Tuesday night I was laying in bed about to go to sleep when I jolted up with this panic and a theory in mind. I don’t even want to tell you what my theory was but let’s just say, it was right – and I cried.
Endgame was amazing. Will I see it again in theaters? For sure. But let’s not forget I’m an AMC member, so I don’t know if I’d actually pay $15+ to see it again. That has nothing to do with the movie itself, just me being frugal. So I guess the proper thing to say is, I will definitely watch this movie again on Disney+ as soon as it’s available!
Screenplay/Originality – I think for what it was, it was fantastic. They wrapped things up nicely. Do I think it was perfect? No. There were a few places where fans with great memories could grab a plot point and fall into a rabbit’s hole of theories and how things could be different or “why didn’t it happen this way?” thoughts. At the same time though, they needed Endgame to tie together 22 movies. With that said, it was great.
Rating – 4
Acting – Oh, no question here. Acting was spot on. I don’t think I’ve looked at any character in this entire universe and thought “they really should’ve picked someone else”. Plus, if you’re still here (watching Endgame) then I’d like to believe you’ve grown to love the actors brought to the MCU.
Rating – 5
Entertainment – I cried, I laughed, I panicked – literally every one of my emotions was pulled in this movie. No joke, from the same breath of sobbing, they had me laughing in the next second. “They” weren’t lying when they said there really isn’t a good time to go to the bathroom.
Rating – 5
Audio – It was good, it was fine. The soundtrack wasn’t the best I’ve heard but the songs seemed to be selected for a reason. The sound editing and mixing was great, action scenes were good too. Only took off a tad because while it was good, it wasn’t the best, it wasn’t perfect.
Rating – 4.5
Visuals – Listen, there is only one reason I took a point off. The Hulk. For one, his visuals look so different from previous films. The Hulk in Endgame is.. lol. I laughed.
Rating – 4
Trailers – MANNNNN. I feel like I shouldn’t even rate this category. Most of the trailers had no actual content to them. There are scenes that are NOT even in the movie. Their sole purpose was hyping up fans. Yes, we all got excited but let’s be real, we all would’ve been excited anyway. I get they wanted to keep an element of surprise and I get they didn’t want to give away the plot. You never want to give away the whole movie in a trailer but you should at least give something.
Credit Scene – I am not putting a rating here. There is a lot of confusion on if there is/isn’t a credit scene. Let’s just say, there’s something (at the end) but I won’t say what.
Overall, Endgame received a 4.3 based off my rating scale.
I loved this movie. I watched so many videos leading up to Endgame. Videos like, don’t forget this, or here’s a recap, easter eggs, etc. I was so refreshed that I knew what scenes and audios from trailers, past movies, etc was either not in Endgame (and was there to fool us) and when things didn’t make sense. With all that, it did NOT stop me in the slightest from not enjoying this movie.
I really hope everyone else enjoyed Endgame in all its glory, full of cheesy jokes, emotion, action, and the big bow on top of the past ten years that have lead up to this.
Until next time,
